Historia de la Inmigración en Buenos Aires
We will visit the non-tourist sector of the most colorful neighborhood of Buenos Aires: La Boca.
We will talk about its people, art, Immigration, anarchism, tango, football, community life, history and customs.
We’ll visit the harbour, warehouses and its picturesque train station where large numbers of immigrants arrive.
We’ll get inside a corrugated metal clad “conventillo” (tenement house) that used to provide shelter to immigrants and today hosts a Cultural Centre. We’ll visit one of the many Mutual Assistance Associations: the Volunteer Fire Department, the first in all Argentina. We’ll also get a grasp of the art of Boca through its large murals reflecting different social issues. We’ll observe some old buildings that hosted anarchist newspapers and bordellos in the early 20th century, and also, two local icons: football (Boca Juniors Stadium, from outside) and Religion (The Salesian Church), which worked as refuges for these rootless communities. At last we’ll visit Caminito to find Tango and Fileteado in every corner.

Historia Social – La Historia de la Inmigración en Buenos Aires
Recorreremos el sector no turístico del Barrio más colorido de Buenos Aires: La Boca. Conoceremos su gente, su arte, arquitectura, historia y costumbres.
Hablaremos de su gente, arte, inmigración, anarquismo, tango, fútbol, vida en comunidad, historia, y costumbres.
El Puerto natural, donde llegaron grandes grupos de inmigrantes, sus galpones y su recuperada estación de tren. Ingresaremos a un conventillo de chapa que sirvió de albergue a los inmigrantes. Veremos el arte boquense representado en grandes murales que reflejan distintas problemáticas sociales. El Estadio de Boca no puede faltar (lo veremos por fuera). Tomaremos un café en el Bar Notable La Perla, antiguo prostíbulo y visitaremos el colorido Caminito. Hablaremos del anarquismo, el tango, el lunfardo, el fileteado todas consecuencias de la inmigración. También la historia de los distintos puertos en Buenos Aires
